John Torode is widely known as the straight talking chef and judge of BBC’s MasterChef, Celebrity MasterChef and Junior MasterChef series.
Australian by birth, John began his cooking career aged 16. He moved to the United Kingdom in 1991 - working at Le Pont de la Tour and Quaglinos's with Terence Conran. Whilst working at Quaglino's, Torode first met his co judge Gregg Wallace, whose company supplied the vegetables for the restaurant.
John opened his hugely popular restaurant Smiths of Smithfields in 2000 and in 2009 launched The LUXE in Spitalfield Market. He is also the author of a number of successful cook books, including Beef, and Chicken and Other Birds.
Gregg Wallace is the country’s highest profile greengrocer. He is best known for co-presenting and judging MasterChef, MasterChef: The Professionals and Celebrity MasterChef.
Gregg was born in Peckham and began his career selling vegetables in Covent Garden. His first broadcasting work was presenting Veg Talk on BBC Radio 4 . Since then he’s grown to become one of the countries most loved culinary pundits - presenting shows for the BBC , writing books and articles for newspapers and food magazines.
Aside from food, Gregg’s biggest passions are history and rugby.
Monica is the co-presenter and judge on MasterChef - The Professionals. Known for her uncompromising standards, Monica works as the senior sous chef at the 2 Michelin-starred, Le Gavroche restaurant in London’s Mayfair.
Born in Western Samoa, Monica grew up in New Zealand where she trained and worked as a chef. She moved across the world for the chance to work with her mentor, Michel Roux Jnr. Since 2009, Monica has been a judge on MasterChef – The Professionals. Monica is also the author of the cookbook – Monica’s Kitchen
